Dear Beloved Church Family,
As we approach the time of Holy Week, our hearts are filled with anticipation and reverence for the profound significance of the events that transpired over the course of six transformative days. These pivotal moments, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, mark a journey that forever changed the course of human history.
Palm Sunday, the day Jesus entered Jerusalem, greeted with joyous acclamation, sets the stage for the dramatic unfolding of events. As we reflect on the triumphal entry, let us also contemplate the humility and purpose with which our Lord embarked on the path that would lead to the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation.
The poignant events of Maundy Thursday draw us closer to the heart of Christ's mission. The Last Supper, the washing of the disciples' feet, and the institution of the Holy Communion invite us to participate in the sacred mysteries that bind us together as one body in Christ. Let us use this day to embrace the call to service, humility, and unity within our faith community.
Good Friday, a day of solemn reflection and deep sorrow, takes us to the foot of the cross. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross is the epitome of love and redemption. As we meditate on the profound suffering endured on our behalf, may our hearts be stirred to repentance and gratitude for the immeasurable gift of salvation.
Holy Saturday, a day of waiting and anticipation, invites us to ponder the silence and mystery of the tomb. In this time of apparent stillness, we find hope in the promise of resurrection and the triumph over sin and death. Let our hearts be filled with eager expectation as we await the dawn of Easter Sunday.
Easter Sunday, the culmination of Holy Week, celebrates the glorious resurrection of our Lord. The empty tomb bears witness to the victory of light over darkness, life over death. In the resurrection, we find the assurance of our own new life in Christ. Let us joyfully proclaim the good news and share the message of hope with a world in need of the transformative power of God's love.
During this Holy Week, let us come together as a community of believers, united in prayer, reflection, and worship. Wishing you a blessed Holy Week filled with the grace, peace, and joy that only our risen Savior can provide.
In Christ's love,
Bill Doane
