 Dear Church Family

Over the years, our church has been a source of spiritual growth, support, and community for all of us. It has been a place where we have come together to worship, to learn, and to share in the joys and challenges of life.

I want to take a moment to reflect on the idea of change, something that we are all intimately familiar with, both in our personal lives and within the context of our church. Change is an inevitable part of life; it is the constant force that propels us forward on our journey. However, it is also true that change can be one of the most challenging aspects of our existence. It can stir up feelings of uncertainty, fear, and resistance.

While change can be difficult, it is essential to remember that it is often through change that we discover new strengths, develop resilience, and deepen our relationship with God.

Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind as we navigate these changes together:

  1. Embrace the Unknown: It's natural to feel uneasy when faced with the unknown. However, remember that God is with us every step of the way. Trust in His plan and have faith that the changes are part of a greater purpose.

  2. Open and Honest Communication: We must continue to communicate openly and honestly with one another. Sharing our thoughts and concerns can help us better understand the changes and find ways to adapt.

  3. Support One Another: We are a community, and we are here to support each other. Let us reach out to those who may be struggling with the changes and offer a helping hand or a listening ear.

  4. Prayer and Reflection: Spend time in prayer and reflection. Seek guidance from God as we move through this period of change. Prayer can provide us with the strength and clarity we need.

  5. Remember Our Mission: Our mission as a church remains the same: to spread the love of Christ, to support one another, and to make a positive impact on our community. Change may alter how we achieve these goals, but the essence of our mission remains unchanged.

Change may be hard, but it is also an opportunity for growth and renewal. Let us remember that God is the constant in our lives, and He is always present to guide us through the challenges of change. Together, as a church family, we can embrace these changes with faith, hope, and love.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our church. With God's grace, we will continue to thrive and grow, even in the face of change.

Yours in Christ,

Bill Doane

Dear Church Family,

I reflect upon the role and purpose of the Church in our lives and in the world, I find myself pondering a simple yet profound question: What are you looking for?

The Church, throughout history, has played a central and influential role in the lives of individuals and communities. It has been a place of worship, a source of moral guidance, a haven for the weary, and a beacon of hope. But in our rapidly changing world, where the dynamics of faith and spirituality are evolving, it's important for the Church to reflect on its mission and purpose.

Are you looking for a way to connect people to their faith in a meaningful and relevant way? In today's digital age, people have more information and options than ever before. The Church must find innovative ways to engage with individuals, meet them where they are, and offer spiritual guidance and support that resonates with their lives.

Are you looking to foster a sense of community and belonging? Loneliness and isolation are growing problems in our society, and the Church has the potential to be a place where people find genuine connections and a sense of belonging.

Are you looking to provide comfort and solace in times of crisis and uncertainty? The world faces numerous challenges, from natural disasters to global pandemics, and people often turn to their faith for solace and guidance during these trying times. Being a source of support and comfort in times of crisis is a critical role for the Church.

Are you looking to inspire and educate? Education and spiritual growth go hand in hand. The Church can continue to be a place where people learn about their faith, explore their beliefs, and deepen their understanding of the world and their place in it.

In conclusion, the question "What are you looking for?" is not just directed at the Church as an institution but also at each member of the congregation and the broader community. It's a question that invites reflection, action, and a commitment to living out the values and principles that the Church represents.

Let us strive to be a Church that seeks to connect, belong, advocate, comfort, inspire, educate and Hope that show Grace and Mercy. In doing so, we can continue to fulfill our mission and be a source of hope and light in a world that often needs it most.

With faith and hope,

Bill Doane

Dear Aspen Grove Church,
It is with great joy and anticipation that I write to you today, as we prepare for a special and
momentous occasion - our upcoming Homecoming celebration at Aspen Grove Church.
Homecoming is a cherished tradition that allows us to come together as a church family, rekindle old
friendships, and welcome back those who have been away from our congregation.
It is a time of reflection, thanksgiving, and renewal of our spiritual bonds.
The theme for this year's Homecoming is "Rejoicing in Unity, Renewing Our Faith." This theme
reminds us of the importance of unity within our church community and the need
to continually renew our faith in God. It is an opportunity for us to reflect
on the journey we have been on, the challenges we have overcome, and the
blessings we have received as a church.
We have planned a series of special events and activities to mark this occasion, including:
1. Worship Service: Join us for a special Homecoming worship service where we will come together to praise and worship the Lord.
2. Fellowship Luncheon: Following the service, we will gather for a delicious fellowship luncheon. This is a great time to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and share in the warmth of our church family.
3. Memorabilia Display: We invite you to bring any church memorabilia, photos, or mementos that hold special significance for you. We will have a display area where we can reminisce about our shared history.
4. Guest Speakers: Pastor Glenn Tripp
We encourage all members, both past and present, to attend and be a part of this celebration. Your presence and participation will make Homecoming truly memorable. If you have friends or family members who were once part of our church community, please extend this invitation to them as well.
Let us come together to celebrate our faith, our history, and our unity as a church family. Homecoming is a time to give thanks for the past and to look forward with hope to the future.
We look forward to welcoming you all with open arms on Sept 10th 2023.
May God's blessings be upon you all.
Sincerely,
Bill Doane

 Dear Church Family

As we gather each week to worship and reflect upon our faith, I wanted to take a moment to dive into a topic that lies at the very core of our existence as Christians – the profound and irreplaceable need for God's help in our lives."DO YOU ASK GOD FOR HELP?"

In a world characterized by constant change, uncertainty, and challenges, we often find ourselves grappling with circumstances that test our resolve and shake our faith. It is during these times that we are reminded of our human limitations and our need for a higher power to guide us through the storms of life. Scripture consistently teaches us that God is not just an optional companion on our journey but an essential pillar upon which our lives are built.

Divine Guidance: The path we tread is riddled with choices, some minor and some life-altering. It is easy to become overwhelmed and uncertain, but with God's help, we gain access to divine wisdom. The Psalms remind us, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path" (Psalm 119:105). God's guidance illuminates our way, ensuring that we make choices aligned with His will.

Strength in Weakness: As humans, we encounter moments of weakness, both physical and emotional. Yet, through God's help, our weaknesses can be transformed into sources of strength. The Apostle Paul learned this firsthand, proclaiming, "For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:10). God's strength empowers us to endure hardships and emerge victorious.

Comfort and Healing: In times of pain, grief, and sickness, we find solace in the arms of our Heavenly Father. The Psalms resonate with assurance: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). God's presence provides comfort that surpasses all understanding and paves the way for healing.

Forgiveness and Redemption: We all stumble and fall, burdened by mistakes and regrets. But God's help extends beyond our shortcomings. Through His grace, we are offered forgiveness and the chance to start anew. The Apostle John assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

In our journey of faith, it is vital to remember that seeking God's help is not a sign of weakness, but an acknowledgment of our reliance on Him as our Creator and Sustainer. As a community of believers, let us embrace our need for God's guidance, strength, comfort, and forgiveness, both in times of joy and in moments of adversity.

May our lives be a testament to the transformative power of God's help, inspiring others to seek His unwavering support as well. Let us come together in prayer and fellowship, reinforcing our commitment to a life deeply rooted in faith and anchored by the grace of our Lord.

With heartfelt blessings and prayers for each one of you,

In Christ's love,

Bill Doane

 Dear Church Family

Grace and peace be unto you all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As we continue our journey of faith together, I would like to bring forth a topic that has been on my heart – the act of seeking God's help in times of need.

In our shared walk with God, we are often faced with challenges, uncertainties, and moments when we feel overwhelmed by the weight of life's burdens. In these moments, it is only natural for us to turn to our Creator, the One who holds all power and wisdom, for guidance and support. The question that I would like us all to reflect upon is: "Do we actively seek God's help?"

The Scriptures teach us time and again about the importance of seeking God's guidance and assistance. Psalm 121:1-2  I lift up my eyes to the mountain where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

It's easy to get caught up in our own efforts, relying solely on our human understanding and strength. However, as a community of believers, we are called to a higher standard – a standard that recognizes the importance of humbling ourselves before God and acknowledging our dependence on Him. In doing so, we not only experience His grace and mercy, but we also strengthen our relationship with Him and witness His mighty hand at work in our lives.

Let us remember that seeking God's help is not a sign of weakness, but rather an expression of faith. It is an act that affirms our trust in His divine providence and His promise to never leave us nor forsake us. As we gather in worship and fellowship, let us encourage one another to be diligent in our prayers and petitions, inviting God into every aspect of our lives.

May our hearts be open, and our spirits be willing as we embark on this journey of introspection and growth. May our faith be strengthened, and may our actions reflect the truth that we serve a God who delights in answering the cries of His children.

In Christ's love,

Bill Doane

Dear Church Family,

Grace and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I trust this letter finds you well and blessed. I am writing with a heart filled with hope and a desire for healing, unity, and renewed fellowship within our church.

In recent times, I have observed with a heavy heart the presence of discord and strained relationships among the body of believers. As followers of Christ, we are called to love one another, to be peacemakers, and to forgive as we have been forgiven. It is crucial for us to set aside our differences, embrace the spirit of humility, and work towards restoring the harmony that once defined our fellowship.

The Bible teaches us in: Colossians 3:13 "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." These words remind us of the divine example of forgiveness we have received through Christ's sacrifice, and they challenge us to extend that same forgiveness to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Let us set aside ourgrievances, listen to one another's perspectives, and seek understanding. This journey toward reconciliation may require humility, vulnerability, and a willingness to admit our shortcomings, but it is a path that leads to the restoration of relationships and the strengthening of our church family.

May the Lord bless ourefforts and guide us on this journey of healing and restoration.

In Christ's love,

Bill Doane
