Last Sunday morning, we as a church family gathered together to partake of the Lord’s Supper.  Our text was taken from Luke 22:7-20.  As the Lord’s heart was heavy, He shared those final moments with His disciples.  He had entered Jerusalem to the adoration of the people who lined the streets with palm branches and cried “Hosanna to the King”. In just a few short days, their angry voices would cry “Crucify Him”.

With a heavy heart, our Lord knew what would take place in a few short hours.  His love for us was more than His words.  He would lay down his life willingly for us.  It was His blood that paid the price for our sins and for that we are eternally grateful.  Hebrews 9:22 reminds us without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.  The precious Son of God paid the debt of our sins.  If we have trusted Him as the Lord of our lives, we have been cleansed from all unrighteousness.

At the conclusion of the service, Lou Gardner came forward for prayer and our church family came together and we lifted our prayers as she was annointed in accordance with the scripture that tells us that if there are any sick among you to bring them before the elders of the church.  As we joined hands and lifted our prayers together, it was a touching moment to conclude our service.  Please continue to remember Lou in your daily prayers.

This Sunday, our message will be entitled “BE YOURSELF, EVERYONE ELSE IS TAKEN”.  Our text will be taken from Genesis 27:19-24 and I Samuel 17:37-50.

We have to realize that no one can live our lives for us.  We all have gifts that God has blessed us with.  It becomes imperative that we use them in our walk with Christ.

Let us prepare our hearts for this week’s service and ask God what doth the Lord require of me.
